VIDEO PRODUCTION

Video (or film if you’re fancy) is the most powerful form of storytelling, because it is baked out of a bunch of other delicious ingredients. And I want to bake everyone their favorite flavor. From big tech companies like Microsoft and AWS, to schools, nonprofits and small businesses, below you’ll find a curation of my work in freelance, agency and in-house roles.

In-House Creative at HPU

Every department wants a video. Which is great, because video is great! The trick is being able to turn random asks and miscellaneous footage into a strategic vision to produce stellar visual communication collateral.

Modern Professionals

This piece is special, because I worked with two other amazing women to make it, and because it looks bomb. It’s a :30-second ad promoting the school’s graduate programs. I used a combo of stock footage and dog footage. Winner of the Educational Advertising Awards for Best TV Spot.

Concept art for Modern Professionals

That song though! I knew I wanted to use it before even storyboarding. I created this mockup to show what we could do with the music and various motion graphics techniques.

Experience HPU: Electrical Engineering

Seemingly random classroom footage and interviews I shot with an Osmo Pocket, Canon 5D, and Zoom H1n, assembled into a cohesive story about the badass things students are doing. It wasn’t planned, but I love how it turned out.

HPU Campus Tour 2020

The Admissions Office requested a campus tour video with zero detail for the deliverable, so I was able to let my creative juices flow.

HPU is Ready For Fall 2020

COVID-19 threw a wrench into… everything? Including the day-to-day operations of college campuses. We whipped up this video to demonstrate the readiness of HPU to welcome students back. Winner of the CASE District VII Video on a Shoestring Silver Award.

International Admissions Overview

The international team needed a video to compete with other schools. I got to run with this one from concept through post, including shooting, editing and motion graphics.

Freelance & Agency

Before joining HPU’s in-house team, I produced video content in both freelance and on-staff capacities for creative agencies large and small.

Microsoft 365 Core: The New Technologists

One of the first projects I got to work as director, camera op and editor. It doesn’t hurt that The New Technologists program made telling a great story super easy.

Northwest Indigenous News: Eighth Generation

I freelanced with the Tulalip Tribes for three years, and among many things was able to produce news segments highlighting modern indigenous culture.

UH: Stan Sheriff Center 25th Anniversary

Producing ads and promos for a television station is a totally different kind of video production than I was used to. This one was extra fun because it incorporated existing footage, narration, and keyed on-camera talent.

How Much Will My Video Cost?

We got asked this All. The. Time. at Playfish, so we made an explainer video. This was my first foray into motion graphics, and I never looked back! Just kidding, it was really hard.

Video Editing

Before branching out into creative services, shooting, and multimedia design, I was primarily a video editor. I like to think of editing as Chopped for filmmakers.

Bartell Drugs: Joe Chocolates

Who doesn’t love a food video? Especially one involving coffee. And chocolate. And my Nana’s favorite drug store.

HPU Student Profile: Daniela

One of the coolest parts of video editing is learning about really interesting people and sharing their stories with the world.

AWS Client Profile: Simple Bank

In terms of getting paid to edit, customer testimonial videos for tech companies are where it all started for me.

Wedding Highlight: Ashlee and Bryan

Yeah yeah, I know, it’s a wedding video. But hear me out - they can be so beautiful (and this one is), and as an editor, they allowed me to hone my chops at montage.
